Activities

These are the activities we get up to at Capernwray Evangelical Church. To see one-off events, check our Facebook page.

Sunday Morning Meeting

Sunday meetings are the focal point of our week as a church family. We meet at 10:45 AM for around an hour. Our time is focused on Jesus; listening to Him from the Bible, praying to Him, and singing of the wonderful things He has done! After the meetings we love to stick around and spend time with each other with some tea and cakes. At the moment, our meeting locations sometimes change. You can see where they are here.

Sunday Evening Meeting

Sunday evening meetings are smaller and more relaxed than the Sunday morning services, with what's going on varying each week. Some weeks we will have a visiting preacher, some weeks we spend the whole evening singing, and other weeks we have people sharing their stories. In all of them we spend time praying as well. This meeting is always at the Capernwray Evangelical Church building (Borwick Road).

Home Groups

Home groups meet every other Tuesday in various homes. We believe that growing in knowledge of God through the Bible is crucial for everyone. The goal of our home group is to give people opportunity to discuss, process, and think further about the Biblical teaching from the previous Sunday.

Prayer Meetings

We believe prayer is a significant part of the life of our church family. Prayer meetings are held every other Tuesday (alternating with home groups) at the Capernwray Evangelical Church building (Borwick Road) starting at 7:30 PM. Typically, someone will share a devotional thought and then we spend time praying for one another, our church, and the world around us.

Kiddy Capers

Kiddy Capers is a toddler group hosted at the Capernwray Evangelical Church building (Borwick Road) every Friday morning from 9:15 AM to 11:30 AM during term time. It includes time to play, sing, eat snacks, and listen to a story from the Bible. We hope it is also a great place for parents to connect and support one another.

Rooted Youth Group

As a church, we want to be actively discipling people. Rooted is a youth group for secondary school aged children with the purpose of discipling and rooting teenagers deeper in Jesus. It takes place in various homes, every other Friday during school term time. If you are interested in joining us, please get in touch!

Senior Fellowship

Senior fellowship is a time of friendship and fellowship for senior people in the area. It is hosted at Heathfield in Over Kellet, on the 3rd Tuesday each month at 2:15 PM (excluding July & August).
